Glasgow City Council organises and provides a range of services for people living in the city who are affected by drugs and alcohol. These include assessment of needs, health advice, counselling and access to community and residential rehab services. Alcohol Concern acts as the national umbrella body for 500 local agencies tackling alcohol-related harm and offering help to the families and friends of those with alcohol-related problems. It plays a key role in promoting and advising on the development of national alcohol policy and in promoting public awareness of alcohol issues. It acts as the principal source of information on alcohol to the general public, to the press and to professionals in other fields of activity, including government. - Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. This site contains information about membership, anonymity and meetings. - Campaign Against Drinking and Driving
This is the official website for the Campaign Against Drinking and Driving (CADD). CADD aims to provide support for the families of victims killed and injured by drunk and irresponsible drivers, and to advance the education of the public concerning road safety, particularly where it is affected by alcohol or other drugs. This site includes details on CADD's mission, facts about drinking and driving, and access to the full-text of CADD publications.
