These include assessment of needs, support at home, care homes, short breaks and the provision of day service and day opportunities. Specific services are also available to support people with dementia. Action on Elder Abuse is a national organisation that operates across the four nations of the British Isles. It is based in London. The Parkinson's Disease Society is a registered charity which provides support, advice and information to people with Parkinson’s, their carers, families and friends, and to health and social services professionals involved in management and care. Services include a free phone helpline (0808 800 0303), information and publications including The Parkinson, a quarterly magazine for members and a range of leaflets, and a range of booklets, videos and cassettes.
