The Glasgow LGBT Centre celebrates equality and diversity in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. The centre offers an inclusive physical space as well as advocacy, support, learning and welfare services. - Sandyford Initiative
The Sandyford Initiative offers a wide range of health services, advice, information, referrals and support for women, men and young people on all aspects of emotional, reproductive and sexual health. Main services include free condoms and contraception, screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, HIV counselling / testing, abortion referrals and counselling, menopause clinic, psychosexual therapy, vasectomy counselling. . Specialist services include the Sappho Health Service for lesbians and bisexual women, the Steve Retson Project for gay men, the Gender Clinic, Vasectomy Clinic, The Place (for young people aged 17 and under) and the Thrive service (for men who have been sexually abused). The Centre for Women's Health on the 2nd floor is a women only space and offers emotional counselling and support along with some specialist counselling services e.g. eating disorders The Sandyford also has a public lending library service open to all specialising in health and wellbeing. The Library has free public access Internet computers and is also a Learndirect Centre. A free crèche is available within Sandyford. - Steve Retson Project
The Steve Retson Project, based at the Sandyford Initiative and the Glasgow Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Centre, is a sexual health project aimed at gay men's needs. It offers testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), vaccinations for Hepatitis A and B, HIV testing, free condoms, as well as counselling, advice and information on sexual health. All services (including treatments) are free of charge. The site contains information on clinics, including service available, times and locations, and how to make an appointment. Also available from the site are answers to frequently asked questions, information on how to have a healthy gay sex life, Core magazine and information on the Glasgow gay scene. - Strathclyde Gay and Lesbian Switchboard
Strathclyde Gay and Lesbian Switchboard was established in 1976 as a support service for people in the West of Scotland experiencing problems relating to sexuality. Today, Switchboard offers a wide range of services to lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transvestites, transsexuals and their families and friends. Four phone lines are open every night of the year from 7pm until 1Opm and all the calls are confidential. Switchboard is a member of the British Association of Counselling and the Scottish Switchboards Association. - Equal
