Alzheimer Scotland - Action on Dementia is Scotland's leading dementia charity. It provides services and campaigns actively to help people with dementia and their families and carers. This site is for people with dementia, carers, family members, professionals, policy-makers, students and anyone who wants to know more. Glasgow Office: Opening hours - Mon-Fri, 9-5, 24hr answerphone and 24hr Helpline (Freephone 0808 808 3000). Services / facilities: Enquiries via phone, fax, letter and personal visit. A large selection of publications including newsletters, reports and guidelines and leaflets are available with a charge for professional and bulk orders. Information packs are available free to people with dementia and their carers and speakers and information stands can be provided. Training for professionals, carers and volunteers can be arranged. The Alzheimer’s Association is the largest national voluntary health organisation in the US committed to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease and helping those affected it. It is concerned with research into the causes, treatments, prevention and cure of Alzheimer’s Disease. The Association also provides education and support for people diagnosed with the condition, their families and caregivers. The Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center (Centre) is a service of the National Institute of Aging (Ageing), a National Institute of Health under the US Department of Health and Human Services. The site is concerned with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. It includes research updates, news on Alzheimer centres, publications, multimedia resources, a bibliographic database and a clinical trials database. There is an information and referral section and an information specialist is available for consultation live online, at designated times. An email alerting service is also offered.
